Participation PLUS is a web-based program designed to support teachers and students in building positive values towards physical activity, social interaction and a charity.

Created by Special Olympics Ontario, the website enables teachers to increase awareness and enthusiasm for physical activity, education and consideration towards others.

HOW IT BENEFITS YOUR SCHOOL?

Each school (class) can participate in the Participation PLUS activities and use the website to track progress and compete with schools in the London area.  This interactive website will allow teachers and students to monitor their physical activity, while also providing a fun way to track fundraising within the school.  Information can also be found on fitness, health and nutrition, with additional information on Special Olympics, the Games, and partners like the London Police Service.  The website allows teachers to combine classroom learning, with a practical means to increase student fitness and compassion for others.  Special Olympics uses sport to activate people with an intellectual disability.  In order to build commitment for the movement, we need to educate and engage young people.  Sure, Special Olympics needs to fundraise, but we prefer that supporters see the relevance behind their efforts
